ChickTech: High School is a program created to show high school girls that engineering can be fun and exciting! It is a 2-day event followed by follow-up sessions, career/resume workshop, mentoring, and internship possibilities.

Our first event went without a hitch! Hosted at Portland State University (1930 SW 4th Ave, Portland) January 26-27, 2013, we offered seven workshops for them to choose from in an action-packed weekend. We put on a “Tech Show” at the end of the weekend, where our participants showed off what they’ve created to friends, family, sponsors, and each other.

January 26th
9:00am-9:30am: Registration
9:30am-10:00am: Keynote speaker, discussion, and move into workshops
10:00am-12:00pm: Workshop session
12:00pm-1pm: Lunch – time to talk with mentors and peers + make USB bracelet (split into two groups: 30 min for lunch, 30 min for bracelet)
1pm-4pm: Workshop session
4pm-4:30pm: Talk with mentors, wrap up
Transportation leaves at 5pm
January 27th
9:00am-9:15am: Arrive
